At TMF we follow the syllabuses of two examining boards. ABRSM and Trinity Rockschool. We believe that these two internationally recognised boards offer our students the best possible opportunities!
ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) is the worlds leading music examination board. Over 600,000 candidates across the world take their music exams each year in more than 90 countries. There are two practical examination dates each year set by the board normally May/June and Nov/Dec. The board also set Music Theory examination dates, February, June and October.
Trinity Guildhall music examinations were first introduced 125 years ago and since then they have continually developed and refined a system of assessments through the really early stages right through to the professional. Many of our vocal, guitar, piano/keyboard, drum and bass students choose the Trinity Rockschool course, specially written tunes to develop the key skills, styles and techniques they need so they can play the hits of today, yesterday and tomorrow. At grades 3, 5 & 8 of the Rockschool syllabus, the songs are the same across all instruments (drums, bass and guitar) therefore it is possible for students to take exams as a group!
All Rockschool grades are accredited by Trinity College London and these qualifications are recognized around the world.
